Welcome to HerLegacy. My hope is that this podcast serves as a place for Black women to learn more about what summer camps are all about and build a community of women who's goal is to push back against the mainstream idea of what camp is to instead honor all that it can be. Join me as I sit down with some incredible women and discuss their time at camp and the hopes they have for the field that we all love.
In this episode I shared my own camp story, delving deeper into what brought me to camp and why I dedicated myself to a place that never really gave me the same support. If there is anything I hope that you gain from watching its this: you dont have to be afraid to take up space. There are going to be moments where you feel wholly misunderstood but that doesnt mean you're in the wrong place.
